Desert Course

Soon after its opening in 1984, this course was named one of the top three courses built in the United States in the past 20 years by the American Society of Golf Course Architects.

The Desert Course:  6,271 yards, par 72

"The Desert Course was designed to provide a distinct alternative for the Vintage golfer, emphasizing accuracy and shotmaking ability.  Cut out of the California Desert floor, this short but demanding course requires strategy and sound shot planning.  The interplay of water elements is set off by numerous desert landscape areas featuring native fan palms, yucca and huge displays of wildflowers all enhanced by the majesty of giant saguaro cacti.  High-angle, wave-type bunkers and clusters of native palo verde are strategically located to influence even the most prudent shotmaker.  We are proud that this course represents such a distinct golfing alternative that it was selected as one of the three greatest courses built in the past twenty years by the American Society of Golf Course Architects."
